Saddle Craft is a small manufacturing and retail company based in South Shields in the North East of England and specialising in all aspects of motorcycle seating.
Seat making was a natural progression from our early days of manufacturing G.R.P.(fibreglass) accessories and lightweight replacement parts for our own motorcycles as there were at the time very few, if any, suppliers of quality aftermarket parts in the U.K. We made our first complete seats circa 1982.
Our skills and experience developed over the last 30 years or so and although we still manufacture a range of G.R.P. products, seats are our main line of business. We offer a range of services including recovering, refoaming, reshaping, full seat restorations and bespoke designs, as well as our own range of classic and custom seats.
We developed our own Gel Pads and have been manufacturing these for about 7 years or so with excellent results and feedback..
Winter 2010 will see development of our heated seat come to completion. We have been testing for a number of months and are aiming to launch early in 2011. Our heater elements will be available as a retro fit to existing seats or fitted as an option to any of our own seats.
Other services on offer in our workshops include full rewiring of classic bikes, bead & shot blasting, crack detecting through non destructive testing, polishing, and stainless hydraulic brake and clutch hoses in either kit form or custom made.
We also hope to have new vapour blast equipment installed by no later than the winter of 2010.
In our retail premises we stock clothing, helmets, bluetooth systems, luggage, security locks and chains, oil, filters etc. as well as accessories from many suppliers including, Held, Motohart, Bike-it, Rayven, Oxford Products, Wurth, Venhill, Highway Hawk and Wassell.
We also have a range of products for builders of Triton, Café Racer and Flat tracker motorcycles as well as other specials. So thank you for visiting our web site. It will always be a ‘work in progress’, but we hope you’ll find it interesting……
